IT for the Non-IT Nonprofit Leader: An Overview

Presenter: Laura Dallas Burford, LAD Enterprizes, West Chester, PA

Today no nonprofit can exist without using and integrating information technology (IT) and its related processes into the daily operation. IT is no longer just nice to have or an unwelcome required expense – it is a critical strategic asset that must be managed by leaders.  How do leaders successfully manage an asset that has been traditionally difficult to understand? How do leaders manage the communication gap that tends to exist between business and IT people resulting in a “misalignment” of IT and Strategy?

The goal of this seminar is to provide leaders with some valuable insight as well as some practical tips and tools to ensure Nonprofit “Business” and IT success.  This seminar is not a technical discussion.  Rather it is a business discussion addressing real-life examples, stories, and technical myths.
