Regulatory Advocacy

We advocate with federal agencies that implement the laws that are important to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.   We provide comments to agencies when they issue proposed regulations, we serve on commissions, boards, and advisory panels to help ensure the proper implementation of laws, and frequently meet with high level executive branch officials to exchange ideas and information on issues and programs.  We regularly work with the following executive branch agencies:  The Departments of Education; Health and Human Services; Housing and Urban Development; Labor; Justice, Transportation, and Homeland Security.
