Guess who is joining us in St. Louis at SLI 2017? Senior United Nations Officer Edem Wosornu! Edem is the Chief of the Strategic Planning, Evaluation and Guidance Section in the Office of the Assistant-Secretary-General, OCHA. She oversees the strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation of OCHA’s work, and advises senior leadership on managing organizational risk. She is also responsible for coordinating independent inter-agency evaluations to promote accountability, transparency and learning from international humanitarian responses. Edem will be presenting with Bryan Stevenson as part of our opening plenary at SLI. You don’t want to miss this—register today!

  • Rising Star: recognizes a chapter professional in their first five years as ED, president, or CEO who has made significant contributions to their chapter.
  • Outstanding Professional Achievement: recognizes NCE members who live by the core values of the Arc by providing leadership resulting in a significant improvement in supports and services for those we serve.
  • Diversity and Cultural Competency: recognizes chapter EDs/CEOs who have successfully leveraged the skills of their staff to provide innovative program(s) that meet the needs of a diverse I/DD community.
  • Program Innovation: recognizes EDs/CEOs whose chapters have successfully designed and implemented an innovative program to meet the needs of people with I/DD in their community.
  • Exemplary Mentor:  recognizes chapter CEOs/EDs whose mentorship of one or more NCE member(s) has resulted in the mentees’ demonstrated professional growth.
  • Executive Excellence: recognizes a chapter ED/CEO whose career exemplifies the fulfillment of the mission, core values and position statements of The Arc. This is the highest honor bestowed by the NCE.
  • Exemplary Career Leadership: recognizes chapter EDs/CEOs retiring during the period of 11/1/2016 – 12/31/2017 who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to The Arc, having been part of The Arc movement for at least ten years.
  • Lifetime Achievement: This award recognizes an individual who is not a member of the NCE and whose lifetime work has significantly contributed to the mission, core values and positions of The Arc.
