We advocate for the civil and human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
We support the full inclusion of people with I/DD in their community.
People with disabilities run the National Council of Self-Advocates.

The National Council of Self Advocates is an advisory council.
The Council advises The Arc on its advocacy, programs, and services.
The Council tells The Arc how it can better support people with disabilities.

Self-Advocate and Community Leader Adonis Reddick passed away in May 2016. Adonis was an active member of Saint Louis Arc, and received a 2015 Catalyst Award for training and supporting self-advocates. The Missouri Divison of Developmental Disabilities also named him "2015 Self-Advocate of the Year." Adonis will be remembered for his kind nature, sense of humor, and his dedication to advocating for incluison for all.
