Emily Verwee

Emily VerweeOnline Project Manager

“I work for The Arc because my position allows me to meet my professional goals and to make a contribution to an underserved population."

Emily Verwee began working at The Arc in October 2014. She is delighted to be a part of the organization because of the dedication and compassion of its employees and volunteers at the national, state, and local levels.

After earning an undergraduate degree in piano performance, she spent time freelancing as a performer at church services, wedding ceremonies, receptions, and other events. This led to an interest in event planning and a position as a banquet manager at a venue in Detroit, Michigan. During her time as a banquet manager, Emily periodically created promotional materials for the venue and discovered she had an enthusiasm for design. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Graphic Design, as well as a Master of Business Administration, and developed a passion for web design and development.

Emily lives in the D.C. metro area with her husband, Brian, and two cats, Thunder and Lightning. When she’s not at work, she enjoys reading, playing piano, and FaceTiming with her sister, Andrea, and new niece, Jacqueline.
