Sarah BalDirector, Public Relations

“I joined The Arc because the mission of the organization spoke to me and I was ready for a career change. Little did I know when I accepted this job how much it would impact my life and my world view. After almost 4 years with The Arc, I know I will forever be a disability rights advocate. My colleagues, our chapter network, and the amazing advocates and experts in this field have taught me more than I could ever put into words. This is the most fulfilling and inspirational job I have ever had and I am grateful to find such joy in the work I do every day.“

Sarah began working for The Arc in July of 2011. Before joining the Communications team at The Arc she served on Senator Mazie Hirono’s staff doing legislative and press work, she held that position for over 3 years. Prior to her time on the hill, she worked for The Roosevelt Institute doing communications work and at the Hawaii State Legislature doing legislative work. A California girl through and through, she was born and raised in Sacramento and did her undergraduate work at the University of California Riverside.
