Solomon LissanuDatabase Manager

“I work for The Arc because I think I am making some contribution in changing the life of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and help protect their rights and get the support and honor they deserve in our society. I had a cousin who had I/DD and wouldn’t have survived in the society hadn’t it been for the help of organizations like The Arc. Now she can work (with the help of job coach) and earn her living like any of us.”

Solomon started working at The Arc in January, 2008 as Database Manager. Before joining The Arc, he worked for The United Church Board for World Ministries in NYC as Donations Specialist and as Database Manager for The Lab School of Washington which educates children with ADHD, dyslexia and learning disabilities.

Solomon graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Addis Ababa University. He also received different trainings and certificates in advance use of nonprofit databases including Raiser’s Edge.
