Outstanding Professional Achievement Award

PURPOSE

These awards recognize NCE members who have demonstrated special achievement in an area related to the core values of The Arc: People First, Community Participation, Democracy, Visionary Leadership, Diversity, Integrity and Excellence. Up to four awards will be presented each year. These awards will be granted to candidates whose leadership has resulted in significant improvement in supports and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION

The nominee must be a current NCE member. The nominee must have accomplished the tasks for which he/she is nominated within a contemporary time period, i.e., within the last two or three years. The nomination can be for any activity that the NCE member engages in as part of his/her career and that relates to a specific core value(s). In nominating an individual it is important to state how that person's work has directly advanced the principles included in the core values of The Arc.
