Wings for Autism® at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport!

35 families participated in the first Wings for Autism® event at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport on March 22, 2014. The event was held in partnership with Alaska Airlines, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, Alaska Autism Resource Center (AARC) and The Arc of Anchorage.

Families arrived at the airport and checked in at the Alaska Airlines ticket counter. After receiving their boarding passes, they continued through the security and on to the gate. Participants waited at the gate until the boarding announcement was made.

The plane taxied for 90 minutes to simulate take-off, flight time, and in-flight service (including snacks!). Once the plane had “landed”, they were treated to a reception courtesy of HMS Host and Cinnabon.
